The shows are flying by now, and we have just hung the second of the Intersections shows. This second Intersection is based upon the junction between Light/Dark and is showcasing the work of 12 contemporary Leicestershire artists as they explore what the theme ‘light and dark’ means to them.
With paintings, linocuts, photography, textiles, ceramics and digital collage, ranging through representational to abstract work, there is something for everyone. From the quest for natural darkness to the interaction between light and dark in everyday life, science and metaphorically, the artists explore the theme in form, colour and concept.
Featuring the work of:
Mary Byrne, Alison Carpenter-Hughes, Pam Everard,
Richard Gatward, Sue Graham, Fiona Humphrey,
Lloyd Hughes, David Irish, Deborah Miles-Williams,
Johnny Paramor, Christine Stevens & Anna Louise Wright
It’s been a busy day with the hang, as we have had 72 2D pieces of work to curate and hang. That’s 144 mirror plates to screw to the walls. We also have 3D work – ceramic forms, sketchbooks, lino-printing blocks and some archaeological finds.
Please join us for our opening and Meet the Artist event on Saturday 18th Feb 12-2pm. Free and all welcome. Available artists will be available to chat to the public about the ideas and inspiration behind their work, and the techniques they use to create them.
